A general consensus seems to prevail in that AV equipment is of secondary importance to the building or interior design in any project. Frequently equipment ae ordered near the end of the building project, the result being a poor compromise. The A/V system should be considered a building system, a system that requires the same type of planning and preparation of infrastructure. As with other systems, early programming will guide the equipment selection, and the programming and the equipment selection will inform the room design. Thus, an A/V consultant will be required for any project involving controlled systems – who will then assume responsibility for any non-controlled components in the system.
